NEW PREDICTION: 8/20/06, TEXT ADDED 11/28/06 -- The above event actually occurs in threee parts. First comes the great earthquake; but we can see by its effects that it is not like any other "great earthquake" in the history of humanity. In particular, to cause the sun to darken and the moon to turn the colour of blood worldwide would require an event of unprecedented magnitude. It would have to be more than a mere earthquake, however large.
In recent years scientists have determined what it would require for the sun and moon to behave in this fashion: a nuclear winter, brought about by a largescale nuclear conflict (likely involving US and Russian arsenals); the atmospheric results of a sizeable asteroid or comet impact; and, most recently, the atmospheric results of a supervolcanic eruption. Due to certain other phenomena mentioned in Revelation Chapter 6, I must conclude that the "great earthquake" will not be manmade (thus ruling out a nuclear war scenario). Also, an asteroid or comet impact capable of producing such a change in sun and moon globally would have to be a "planet-killer" and would likely exterminate the entire human race as well as many other life forms. This leaves only a supervolcanic eruption as the most likely cause.
There are three supervolcanoes most likely to erupt in the near future: Toba in Indonesia, the Phlegraean Fields in Italy, and Yellowstone in the United States. Of the three, only Yellowstone is overdue for another eruption.
There is also the question of timing in prophecy. We know that 1) World War III and "the Comet", along with unprecedented global cataclysms, will occur at about the same time and 2) World War III will ultimately be fought on the battlefields of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The invasion of Europe by Russian/Eastern armies and subsequent Islamic war in southern Europe would be completely impossible if the supervolcano at the Phlegraean Fields erupted. Mobilising armies under those conditions could simply not be done. Toba and Yellowstone remain possibilities; however, prophecies like those of St. Hildegarde's appear to suggest that it will be the great nation in North America, the United States, that will suffer the greatest geological damage during time of war. That certainly narrows it down to Yellowstone.
So, what about the second part of Revelation 6:12-17: The sun becoming black "as sackcloth of hair," the moon turning "the colour of blood," and the stars falling "like unripe figs?" The part regarding the stars may be hard to explain, unless at this time Earth is also passing through a meteor swarm associated with a giant celestial body.
Despite computer models showing a 20-year "nuclear winter" following a super-eruption, such a scenario is unlikely. Such a situation would result in human extinction, and such complete destruction of humanity is never to be found in prophecy. Somehow, a sizable portion of mankind survives. The truth is no one has ever observed or recorded a super-eruption and its consequences. Scientists also admit no two super-eruptions will likely be the same: some will be more powerful than others. It may be that the eruption of Yellowstone will be bad enough to trigger geological upheavals worldwide, but not bad enough to cause 20 years of "nuclear winter."
Rather than a "nuclear winter" there may instead be a "nuclear autumn." A relatively shorter period of perhaps a year or less may ensue where the upper atmosphere is filled with dust or ash, obscuring the sun, moon, and stars. It may or may not result in lower temperatures. In a greenhouse situation where enough CO2 is also released, things may actually get hotter.
Line
3 has alchemic undertones. Otherwise, I believe this quatrain
provides us with the length the two luminaries will be obfuscated
and discoloured: eleven months. The French astrologer may have
never lived to see the invention of the telescope, but he knew
from his lessons in natural astrology (the forerunner of modern
astronomy) that the moon needs the sun's radiance in order to
reflect its own light back to the earth. It is doubtful he
understood the scientific reasons behind why the sun and moon
would one day appear perpetually eclipsed. Since the moon passes
from full phase to full phase over a period of almost one month
(29.5 days), the number of "times" the moon will be
lacking the sun is another way of saying that this condition will
persist for a little less than eleven months (10.87 months).
Thus, an era of darkness will cover the Earth from some point in May 2008 and gradually clear until April 2009, at which time normal sunlight and moonlight will return. Of course this will only be true if the May 2008 vector is correct. If the vector is sooner, then normalcy will return sooner. If later, then the "end of the tunnel" will be reached later.
However, whenever the darkness clears in 2009, something else will be seen in the heavens.
The remainder of Revelation 6:12-17 is seemingly inexplicable. For humans to see what is described unfold, the period of darkness must end. This is how we know that the opening of the sixth seal occurs in three parts and does not happen all at one time.
By
August 2009, Planet X and World War III will be approaching a
mutual peak as Russia and the Islamic armies led by Iran invade
Europe. In September, as Russia is forced into a retreat by
deadly "yellow dust" (Irlmaier, Stieglitz), the Muslim
armies begin to prosecute a war in southern Europe. The sun will
seem to halt in the heavens as a million French citizens are
killed by weapons of fire from the sky.
Now the heavens appear like a scroll rolling up, mountains and islands flow with lava or slide under the seas, world leaders and military leaders alike prepare to enter their underground cities and bunkers as unprotected citizens seek refuge in caves and tunnels and any underground dwellings or shelters they can find.
Even this section can be broken into two parts, for the final appariton is the face of God Himself, or so it will seem. This is the great "Day of Wrath," and marks the closest approach of Planet X in November 2009. At this time the very worst catastrophes Planet X will be capable of causing will take place. The prophesied "three days of darkness" will also occur during which over two billion souls will die. Extremely severe geological disturbances will continue until June 2010. Thus, the entire passage of Planet X will run from April 2009 to June 2010. Less severe but damaging meteor storms, weeks of non-stop rainfall and lightning storms on end, major inundations, and earthquakes will continue as PX exerts influence from a distance until May 2011.
These second and third stages of the sixth seal will be covered again on the 2009 and 2010 pages as they are developed.
April 17, 2008 (7:09 PM EDT), UPDATED May 21, 2008 (1:35 AM EDT): According to the Drudge Report, based on statistics at International Programs Center at http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/popclockworld.html, the world population will be 6,666,666,666 on May 10, 2008.
I find this quite disturbing when we consider the following quatrain by Nostradamus:
This quatrain is dated astrologically as May 10, although there is no year given. Even so, the fact that a significant occult number, 666, associated with great evil and found in the Book of Revelation, shall be achieved by the world population on that day and month is more than a bit disturbing when one considers the following projections for a global earthquake or supervolcanic eruption I have made using the base 7 system.

The projection of May 2008, by itself, is remarkable only from the perspective of a base 7 patterning of the Point Mugu (1973), Whittier Narrows (1987), Northridge (1994) and Nisqually (2001) earthquakes and the eruption of Mount St Helen's (1980). That there exists a Nostradamus quatrain that further supports a major earthquake occurring on May 10 is possibly only coincidental in this instance since a year is not provided.
However, the fact that May 10 shall be linked to the number 666 during this year, and only during this year, should be cause for considerable alarm.
The
seismic troubles Nostradamus describes in Quatrain 9.83 is far
beyond that of any normal killer quake. It is powerful enough to
not only cause darkness to fill the air, sky, and land, but also
to turn the faithless and those of other faiths towards God and
the saints.
666, the number of man and also the number of the beast can further be expressed as a possible code for the opening of the sixth seal of Revelation which unleashes the universal earthquake, the moon of blood, the blackened sun, and nameless horrors in the heavens that may be associated with the ultimate arrival of Planet X.
Did
Nostradamus' Great May 10 Earthquake Strike in China?
In Quatrain 9.83 above, Nostradamus foresaw a terrible earthquake, "the great theatre filled up is ruined" and "the earth, sky, and land darkened and troubled" happening on May 10 (no year given) when "the infidel calls upon God and the saints." Is it possible that this may apply to the recent China quake? The earthquake struck on May 12, 2008 at 06:28:01 UTC (2:28: 01 PM EDT), missing Nostradamus' date by only two days.
There is no question that China is a largely atheistic country ("infidel") and we have seen the "darkness" in the air covering the land in the form of dust. Although I applied this quatrain and the date the world population would reach 6,666,666,666 more to the long-awaited West Coast quake and Yellowstone erupting, in a much larger sense, I clearly indicated that May 10 would approximate the date of the opening of the sixth seal of Revelation and the so-called "universal earthquake."
Is the breaking of the Sixth Seal of Revelation taking place slowly?
